ΣΑΡΑΝΤΑ ΑΡΡΕΝΕΣ ΑΣΘΕΝΕΙΣ ΠΟΥ ΠΡΟΣΗΡΧΟΝΤΟ ΣΤΗΝ ΔΙΑΓΝΩΣΤΙΚΗ ΚΛΙΝΙΚΗ ΤΟΥ ΠΑΝΕΠΙΣΤΗΜΙΟΥ ΑΘΗΝΩΝ ΓΙΑ ΟΔΟΝΤΙΑΤΡΙΚΗ ΕΞΕΤΑΣΗ, ΚΑΙ ΟΜΟΙΩΜΑ ΚΕΦΑΛΗΣ ΑΝΘΡΩΠΟΥ (ΑΡΡΕΝΟΣ), ΩΣ ΜΑΡΤΥΡΕΣ, ΑΠΕΤΕΛΕΣΕ ΣΑΝ ΤΟ ΥΛΙΚΟ ΤΗΣ ΜΕΛΕΤΗΣ ΑΥΤΗΣ. Ο ΠΡΟΣΔΙΟΡΙΣΜΟΣ ΤΗΣ ΑΚΤΙΝΟΒΟΛΙΑΣ ΕΓΙΝΕ ΜΕ ΤΗΝ ΘΕΡΜΟΦΩΤΑΥΓΑΣΤΙΚΗ ΜΕΘΟΔΟ ΣΥΜΦΩΝΑ ΜΕ ΤΗΝ ΟΠΟΙΑ ΤΑ ΔΟΣΙΜΕΤΡΑ ΕΚΠΕΜΠΟΥΝ ΟΡΑΤΟ ΦΩΣ, ΑΦΟΥ ΘΕΡΜΑΝΘΟΥΝ, ΤΟ ΟΠΟΙΟ ΕΙΝΑΙ ΑΝΑΛΟΓΟ ΜΕ ΤΗΝ ΑΚΤΙΝΟΒΟΛΙΑ ΠΟΥ ΑΠΟΡΡΟΦΗΣΑΝ. (ΠΕΡΙΚΟΠΗ)</dc:description><dc:description>THE PURPOSE OF THIS INVESTIGATION WAS TO DETERMINE THE AMOUNT OF THE RADIATION ABSORBED DOSES IN THE REGION OF TEMPEROMANDIBULAR JOINT, MAXILLARY SINUS, PAROTID GLAND, BODY OF MANDIBLE AND THYROID GLAND DURING PERIAPICAL DENTAL RADIOGRAPHY AND ORTHOPANTOMOGRAPHIC EXAMINATION. FORTY MALE PATIENTS BETWEEN 40 AND 50 YEARS OF AGE, WEIGHING 70-78 KGR* AND 170-178 CM OF HEIGHT AND A RANDO PHANTOM, AS CONTROL, WERE USED IN THIS INVESTIGATION. DOSIMETERS WERE PLACED AT THE SURFACE ANATOMICAL REGIONS AND IN ADDITION IN INTERNAL REGIONS OF THE PHANTOM. THE CALCULATION WAS PERFORMED WITH THERMOLUMINESCENT DOSIMETERS (T.L.D.-100). THE RESULTS EVALUATED STATISTICALLY AND THE CONCLUSIONS WERE THE FOLLOWING: 1. THE RADIATION ABSORBED DOSES WERE TWO TO FOUR TIMES HIGHER AT THE PERIAPICAL DENTAL RADIOGRAPHY COMPARED TO THE ORTHOPANTOMOGRAPHIC EXAMINATION IN ALL NINE ANATOMICAL REGIONS IN WHICH THERMOLUMINESCENT DOSIMETERS, T.L.D.-100 WERE PLACED. 2. THE MAXILLARY SINUS AND THE BODY OF MANDIBLE AT THE PERIAPICAL DENTAL RADIOGRAPHY AND THE PAROTID AND THYROID REGION AT THE ORTHOPANTOMOGRAPHIC EXAMINATION RECEIVED ABOUT TWO TIMES HIGHER RADIATION ABSORBED DOSES THAN THE REST ANATOMICAL REGIONS. 3. THE RIGHT SIDE ABSORBED HIGHER RADIATION THAN THE LEFT SIDE IN BOTHPERIAPICAL AND ORTHOPANTOMOGRAPHIC EXAMINATION. 4.
