Ζήση, ΑναστασίαΧίου, ΒάναΗ παρούσα σύντομη επισκόπηση εξετάζει τους κοινωνικούς παράγοντες που συνδέονται με την ψυχική υγεία των παιδιών και των εφήβων θέτοντας στο επίκεντρο της τις πραγματικές κοινωνικές και υλικές συνθήκες της ανάπτυξης τους. Η επισκόπηση αντλεί από τις κοινωνιολογικές θεωρίες του κοινωνικού κεφαλαίου (Coleman, 1988) και της κοινωνικής αποδιοργάνωσης (Sampson & Laub, 1994) αλλά και από κοινωνιο-ψυχολογικές θεωρίες, όπως της ενδοοικογενειακής πίεσης (Conger & Elder, 1994), και της αίσθησης του ανήκειν (McMillan & Chavis, 1986). Παρουσιάζονται ευρήματα από διεθνείς μελέτες που εστιάζουν στα πεδία της πρωτογενούς και δευτερογενούς κοινωνικοποίησης των παιδιών και των εφήβων. Αυτά δείχνουν πως η υλική σταθερότητα των νοικοκυριών, οι κοντινοί αλλά και οι ευρύτεροι κοινωνικοί δεσμοί, η αίσθηση του κατοικείν και του ανήκειν αποτελούν παράγοντες και διαδικασίες που με ισχύ επικαθορίζουν την κοινωνική και ψυχοσυναισθηματική ανάπτυξη των παιδιών και των εφήβων.The present brief review examines the interrelationships between social factors and children’s as well as adolescents’ mental health by looking mostly at the real social and material conditions of their development. The review stems from the sociological theories of social capital (Coleman, 1988), of social disorganization (Sampson & Laub, 1994), and from psycho-social theories of family strain model (Conger & Elder, 1994), and of the psychological sense of community (McMillan & Chavis, 1986). international empirical evidence is presented concerning with the fields of primary and secondary socialization of children and adolescents.
