Οικονόμου, ΧαράλαμποςΣκοπός του παρόντος άρθρου είναι να χαρτογρα-φήσει τον χώρο των κοινωνικών κινημάτων γιατην Υγεία και να εξετάσει τα αιτήματα που προ-βάλλουν, καθώς και τους παράγοντες που συνέ-βαλαν στην ανάδυση και ενδυνάμωσή τους. Ηαυξανόμενη επιστημονικοποίηση της διαδικασίαςλήψης αποφάσεων στην άσκηση πολιτικής Υγείαςκαι η κυρίαρχη θέση της ιατρικής αυθεντίας καιεξουσίας στη σχέση γιατρού και ασθενούς απο-τέλεσαν δύο σημαντικά σημεία στα οποία επικε-ντρώθηκε η κριτική και η αμφισβήτηση των κινη-μάτων αυτών. Βασική υπόθεση εργασίας είναι ότιτα εν λόγω κινήματα αμφισβητούν την πρωτοκα-θεδρία και το «αλάθητο» της ορθόδοξης ιατρικής,η οποία βασίζεται στο βιοϊατρικό μοντέλο που κυ-ριάρχησε στις δυτικές κοινωνίες, και θέτουν μιασειρά προκλήσεων στο θεσμικό και πολιτισμικόπλαίσιο διαμόρφωσης της πολιτικής υγείας.The aim of the present paper is to map the territoryof health social movements and to examinethe demands they make as well as thefactors that contributed in their emergenceand strengthening. The increasing scientizationof decision-making process in the exerciseof health policy and the dominant role ofmedical authority and power in doctor-patientrelationship constituted two important pointson which the criticism and contest of thesemovements focused.
