Η προσέγγισητου τρόπου με τον οποίο αντιλαμβάνονται καιυλοποιούν το ρόλο τους οι ίδιοι οι εργαζόμενοιαποτελεί εργαλείο εξαιρετικής σημασίας γιατη μελέτη της λειτουργίας των μηχανισμών πουσυγκροτούν το σύστημα κοινωνικής πολιτικής.Η έμφαση του ερευνητικού ενδιαφέροντος στομικρο-επίπεδο είναι καίρια προκειμένου ναοδηγήσει σε συμπεράσματα ασφαλή αναφορι-κά με τις πρακτικές και τις μεθόδούς που με-τέρχονται οι εργαζόμενοι και να αποκαλύψει τοπεριεχόμενο του νέου γραφειοκρατικού ήθουςτο οποίο αποτελεί και την αφετηρία της προ-νοιακής περιθωριοποίησης.
