Στις ταινίες Ο εξόριστος της κεντρικής λεωφόρου και Τα κουρέλια τραγουδάνε ακόμα, συναντάμε το θέμα της μνήμης και της νοσταλγίας. Οι ήρωες απογοητευμένοι αναπολούν το παρελθόν τους και βρίσκουν καταφύγιο στις αναμνήσεις τους μέχρι που συνειδητοποιούν πως πια όλες οι ευκαιρίες έχουν χαθεί. Και στις δύο ταινίες, το περιθώριο και η αντικουλτούρα αποτελούν στάση ζωής. Η μυθολογία της ροκ μουσικής, η αγάπη για τον κινηματογράφο, η απόρριψη των κοινωνικών κανόνων αποτελούν αναφορές και δημιουργούν ένα ξεχωριστό τόπο μνήμης. (EL)
In the films Exile on main street and The wretches are still singing, we find the themes of memory and nostalgia. The heroes disillusioned, they reminisce the past and find refuge in their memories until they realize that all chances are lost. In both films, marginal counterculture is a life choise. The mythology of rock music, the love of cinema, the rejection of social rules are their only references and create a special place of memory. (EN)
