Ήδη από τη δεκαετία του80΄στην Αμερική, γίνεται χρήση των ρομπότ στην εκπαιδευτική πράξη. Στο ελληνικό εκπαιδευτικό σύστημα, παρατηρείται τα τελευταία χρόνια αντίστοιχη προσπάθεια εκσυγχρονισμού διαμέσου της εισαγωγής της ρομποτικής εκπαίδευσης. Στο πλαίσιο αυτό εντάσσεται και η συγκεκριμένη έρευνα, σκοπός της οποίας ήταν η ανάδειξη της αρωγής της ρομποτικής εκπαίδευσης στην ανάπτυξη του περιγραφικού λόγου σε παιδιά δημοτικού με Μαθησιακές Δυσκολίες (Μ.Δ.). Δείγμα αποτέλεσαν 20 μαθητές, οι οποίοι χωρίστηκαν σε ομάδες εργασίας των δύο ατόμων και χρησιμοποίησαν το υλικό Lego Education Story Starter και Lego Education WeDo. Τα αποτελέσματα ήταν ενθαρρυντικά καθώς μετά από αξιολόγηση τριών σταδίων -pre, post, follow up tests- όλοι οι μαθητές βελτίωσαν αισθητά την περιγραφική τους ικανότητα."
