Ερευνητικό ερώτημα:
Πως εξελίχθηκε η παροχή της κατοικίας, των «φτωχών», ως συνιστώσα πολιτικών και
κοινωνικών στόχων στη Γαλλία από τη βιομηχανική επανάσταση μέχρι σήμερα;
Μέσα από μια ιστορική αναδρομή από τα μέσα του 19ου αιώνα έως την αρχή του 21ου
η παρούσα εργασία επιχρίει να εξετάσει την εξέλιξη της κατοικίας των «φτωχών» στη
Γαλλία. Από τη «γέννηση της» στο Παρίσι ως Cité Napoleon, καθιερώνοντας αρχές και
πρότυπα στη Μυλούζη, στις κηπουπόλεις του μεσοπολέμου, την πρωτοπορία της Cite
de la Muette στο Drancy, έως την μαζική παραγωγή των Grands Ensembles και τελικά
τη παρακμή τους η εργασία αυτή μπορεί να θεωρηθεί ένα ταξίδι με βασικό σκοπό τη
βαθύτερη κατανόηση του ζητήματος παροχής στέγης στη σύγχρονη εποχή.

Research question:
How has the provision of housing, of the “poor”, evolved as a component of political and
social goals in France from the industrial revolution to today?
Through a historical review from the middle of the 19th century to the beginning of the
21st, the present work aims to examine the evolution of the residence of the “poor” in
France. From its “birth” in Paris as the Cité Napoleon, establishing principles and stand-
ards in Mulhouse, the interwar garden cities, the vanguard of the Cite de la Muette in
Drancy, to the mass production of the Grands Ensembles and ultimately their decline,
this work can be considered a journey with the main purpose of gaining a deeper under-
standing of the issue of housing in the modern era.
