The National Documentation Centre (ΕΚΤ) is the national institution for documentation, information and support on science research and technology issues. Its vision is to make scientific knowledge accessible to everyone. Founded in 1980, EKT is integrated with the National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF) and is supervised by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs.

The National Archive of PhD Theses is a service from the National Documentation Centre (EKT) that collects and provides access to the PhD theses from all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Greece as well as PhD theses awarded to Greek scholars by foreign HEIs and certified by the Hellenic NARIC (Δ.Ο.Α.Τ.Α.Π.). The National Documentation Centre (EKT) is the organization responsible, by law, for the collection, development and maintenance of the National Archive of PhD Theses since 1985.
