Strategic financial needs and financial management of the banking sector in the wake of global recession challenge
For the last three years Greece was in the front page on every financial media around the globe and not in a positive way. Its economy faced problems starting with the global financial crisis in early 2008 and turned into a deep depression. Greek banking system from the begging of the first wave of recession appeared quite strong, but the real crash came in the country by the second wave, a new crisis, a dept one which affected Euro zone. This paper will try to give a look on which changes the banking system had to face and how reacted on this crisis that caused the recession. Although the third chapter is about the Greek banks and their changes through ratios, the first and the second chapter it is about the general global financial system, its operation, its rules and its reactions to international turbulences.
