ΠΑΝΟΠΟΥΛΟΥ ΚΥΡΙΑΚΗ

The present case study focuses on the particular issue of teachers devising stories forthe teaching of English as a Foreign Language, within their specific context of younglearners in State Primary Schools of Greece. More specifically, it presents a teacher sattempt to devise and implement three stories for the students of the sixth Grade in herteaching situation and subsequently evaluate their effectiveness towards languagelearning issues and certain affective factors. Data were obtained through thecompletion of three questionnaires, distributed to learners before and after theimplementation of the stories in the classroom, as well as the teacher s observationsheets for recording the learners performance and behavior throughout this research. The results were analyzed and certain conclusions were reached, which suggest theimplementation of such stories in TEYL contexts after taking into considerationcertain relevant theoretical issues which promote the effective use of them, as aconstructive educative tool in the hands of teachers of the English Language.
