Starting from 4,5-diphenyl-1,3-dithiol-2-one, the title complex was prepared and studied. Single crystal X-ray structure determination showed that the complex crystallized in the triclinic system, space group P (1) over bar. It is isostructural with the beta-form of the nickel analogue and the molecules have a dissymmetric structure. Structural and EPR data were found to be close to the theoretically calculated ones. Optical and electrochemical data indicate that the complex is stable in air and could be a candidate material for fabrication of electronic devices.
