With its great coloniae, the Peloponnese was one of the most important regions of Greece in the Roman period. The Tabula Imperii Romani programme of the Academy of Athens aims to collect the archaeological, historical, and topographical data of Roman Greece. This paper summarizes the programme’s scope, methodology, observations, and first results. It discusses research and methodological issues for the Peloponnese, which also apply to the entire programme. Particular importance is given to Achaia, Laconia, and Arcadia through selected findings, which reflect the diversity of the Roman Peloponnese.
