Σκοπός της εργασίας αυτής, είναι η παρουσίαση του θεωρήματος ολικής διακλάδωσης του Rabinowitz το οποίο εξασφαλίζει υπό κατάλληλες συνθήκες την ύπαρξη μη γραμμικών ιδιοσυναρτήσεων για μη γραμμικά προβλήματα ιδιοτιμών. Εφαρμόζουμε το θεώρημα για την απόδειξη της ύπαρξης στάσιμων κυμάτων για την μη-γραμμική εξίσωση Schrödinger με εξωτερικό δυναμικό.
The purpose of this work is the presentation of the theorem of total branching Rabinowitz which ensures under appropriate conditions the existence of nonlinear eigenfunctions for nonlinear eigenvalue problems. We apply the theorem to prove the existence of standing waves for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation with an external potential.
