Η ακόλουθη μελέτη πραγματεύεται το μέλος και το μέτρο της αρχαίας ελληνικής τραγωδίας που άνθισε στην κλασική Αθήνα επιχειρώντας να διερευνηθούν οι ρίζες και τα στοιχεία εκείνα που χάρισαν μουσικότητα και κίνηση στο λαμπρό αυτό θέαμα που επηρέασε την παγκόσμια δραματουργία. Επιδιώκεται έτσι να φωτιστούν οι σχετικά σκοτεινές αλλά τόσο ενδιαφέρουσες πτυχές της τραγωδίας. Αξιοποιώντας τις πρωτογενείς και δευτερογενείς πηγές, δίνεται έμφαση στο ήθος και το ύφος της μουσικής της τραγωδίας καθώς ήταν συνυφασμένα με τα διδάγματα της αρχαίας τραγωδίας, στο μέλος και το μέτρο των τριών τραγικών με αναφορές σε συγκεκριμένα έργα, στους συντελεστές των παραστάσεων τραγωδίας που σχετίζονται με τα λυρικά μέρη και στα μουσικά όργανα που συνόδευαν την παράσταση. Τέλος, γίνεται αναφορά στην πορεία που έπαιρνε η μουσική στην παρακμή της αθηναϊκής δόξας και στον τρόπο διάσωσης της μουσικής της τραγωδίας.
ABSTRACT
The following study addresses the melody and the meter of ancient Greek tragedy that blessed in classical Athens attempting to research the routes and the issues that gave musicality and motivation in this brilliant spectacle that affected the world drama. The aim is to lighten the obscure -at a degree- but so interesting folds of tragedy. Utilizing primary and secondary sources, the study focuses on ethos and genre of tragedian music, as these are interwoven with the precepts of ancient Greek tragedy, the melody and meter that used by the three tragedy poets with reference to specific plays, the performance factors related to the lyrical parts and the musical instruments that accompanied the performances. Finally, there is a reference to procedure of music at the decadence of the glory of Athens and the way that the tragedian music survived.
