Στο κείμενο γίνεται μια προσπάθεια καταρχάς να αναδειχθεί και, ακολούθως, να ερμηνευθεί η φθίνουσα πορεία του ευρωενωσιακού ιδεώδους στη συνείδηση της βάσης του ευρωπαϊκού συνδικαλιστικού κινήματος στη συνάφειά της με τις πολιτικές προεκτάσεις που η ίδια ενεργοποιεί. Εντάσσοντας τη στάση των συνδικάτων απέναντι στην ευρωπαϊκή ολοκλήρωση σε ένα συνολικότερο πλαίσιο στρατηγικής επιλογής -το οποίο περιγράφεται υπαινικτικά- εξετάζονται οι συνέπειες της αφοσίωσης των οργανωτικών συνδικαλιστικών ηγεσιών στους θεσμικούς διακανονισμούς της ευρωπαϊκής ολοκλήρωσης, σε σχέση με στάσεις και προσλήψεις που διαμορφώνονται στο επίπεδο της βάσης. Τέλος, γίνεται μια απόπειρα να παρουσιαστούν διεργασίες στο ευρωπαϊκό συνδικαλιστικό κίνημα που συνιστούν μια αντίθετη κίνηση, προς την κατεύθυνση του «απο-ευρωπαϊσμού», αυτή τη φορά από τα κάτω. The principal aim of the present paper is to explore the trend of decreasing legitimization of European Union as an institutional and political settlement especially among working classes of Europe. A further concern is to highlight the impact of this trend on the linkages between trade unions and employees within the framework of the strategic alignment of many trade union leaderships to the Europeanization project. Although this framework is only implicitly discussed, we attempt to present some processes within European trade unionism which introduce a radical “de-Europeanizing” trend, this time from below.
