Στο δεύτερο κεφάλαιο αναλύεται η μετάλλαξη της έννοιας της μίμησης στο πέρασμά της από τον 19ο στον 20ό αιώνα. Διερευνώνται οι μεθοδολογίες αναζήτησης καινοτομιών και οι νέοι προσανατολισμοί της σύγχρονης αρχιτεκτονικής, όπως επίσης και οι διαφορετικοί τρόποι παραγωγής του νέου μέσα από έννοιες όπως: εφεύρεση, επανίδρυση, εναλλαγή. The second chapter analyzes the mutation of the concept of imitation in its passage from the 19th to the 20th century. The methodologies for searching for innovations and the new orientations of contemporary architecture are investigated as well as the different ways of producing the new through concepts such as invention, re-establishment, and alternation.
