Δίνεται το κίνητρο της θεμελιώδους ιδέας του Grothendieck, ότι κάθε αντιμεταθετικός δακτύλιος αντιστοιχεί σε κάποιο «γεωμετρικό» αντικείμενο και εισάγεται η έννοια του σχήματος. Η γεωμετρική θεωρία αναπτύσσεται στην γλώσσα των δεματιών και μελετώνται βασικές ιδιότητες.

The motive of the seminal idea of Grothendieck concerning the correspondence of any commutative ring to some “geometric” object is given and the notion of scheme is introduced. The geometric theory is developed using the notion of sheaves and basic properties are studied.
