The concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is becoming more and more imperative nowadays since businesses operate and develop within a social group and there is intense interaction between them. Within this context, the current study examines the application of CSR in the Greek banking industry in terms of the environmental, economic, social and philanthropic actions implemented by domestic banks. Specifically, the study focuses on CSR implementation and actions in four systemic banks, namely the National Bank, Alpha Bank, Piraeus Bank, and Eurobank The examination of actions is conducted through researching the sustainable development reports and annual reports of the referred banks for the year 2022.. With the analysis of those documents and their contents, we do confirm that the Greek systemic banks are implementing a large extent of actions concerning the environment, the economy, and society in general.
Η έννοια της Εταιρικής Κοινωνικής Ευθύνης (Ε.Κ.Ε) γίνεται ολοένα και περισσότερο επιτακτική στις μέρες μας αφού οι επιχειρήσεις δρουν και αναπτύσσονται μέσα σε ένα κοινωνικό σύνολο και υπάρχει μεταξύ τους έντονη αλληλεπίδραση. Μέσα στο πλαίσιο αυτό, η παρούσα μελέτη εξετάζει την εφαρμογή της Ε.Κ.Ε στον ελληνικό τραπεζικό κλάδο σε θέματα που αφορούν το περιβάλλον, την οικονομία, την κοινωνία και την φιλανθρωπική τους δράση. Συγκεκριμένα εξετάζει την εφαρμογή και τις δράσεις της Ε.Κ.Ε στις τέσσερις συστημικές τράπεζες, την Εθνική Τράπεζα , την Alpha Bank, την Τράπεζα Πειραιώς και την Eurobank. Η εξέταση των δράσεων Ε.Κ.Ε γίνεται μέσα από τις εκθέσεις βιώσιμης ανάπτυξης και των ετήσιων αναφορών τους με έτος αναφοράς το 2022. Με την ανάλυση των περιεχομένων σε αυτές τις πηγές εξάγεται το συμπέρασμα πως οι ελληνικές συστημικές τράπεζες εφαρμόζουν σε μεγάλο βαθμό δράσεις και ενέργειες Ε.Κ.Ε που επικεντρώνονται στο περιβάλλον, την οικονομία και την κοινωνία γενικότερα.
