Description

This paper is concerned with a linear difference equation with five parameters, and its associated characteristic polynomial. We consider all possible values of the parameters involved in the polynomial and obtain a complete set of necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a positive root, which in term yields a complete set of oscillation criteria for our difference equation.
