Current work is in evaluating the contribution of didactic engineering based on the use of modeling simulations for teaching – the functional dimension of learning constitutes the difficult learning of mechanics, according to some researchers. Therefore, to advance a reliable tool that can convey in the light of learners' representations, it is necessary to analyze different types of obstacles and collect difficulties encountered by learners' thinking and reasoning. For this, we have chosen educational scenarios based on the use of simulations designed by computer tools. Next, a knowledge analysis of student-teacher interaction within the framework of the theory of joint action in teaching. Finally, we found that the integration of digital models enabled students to overcome certain deficiencies associated with reading assembly drawings and identifying from them the parts that make up a mechanism and their roles. This makes it easier to understand the "functional dimensions" feature, draw dimension chains, and determine functional dimensions in part definition drawings. (EN)
