Η ναυτιλία αποτελεί αδιαμφισβήτητα έναν από τους πιο δυναμικούς και εξωστρεφείς κλάδους της οικονομίας. Σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο, η ναυτιλία και οι θαλάσσιες μεταφορές διαδραματίζουν ιδιαίτερα σημαντικό ρόλο και είναι άρρηκτα συνδεδεμένες με την παγκοσμιοποιημένη αγορά, καθώς το εμπόριο διεξάγεται στο πλαίσιο των κανόνων που η ίδια η παγκοσμιοποίηση διαμορφώνει, στο πλαίσιο της ελεύθερης και ενιαίας αγοράς και του ανόθευτου ανταγωνισμού. Επιπλέον, οι θαλάσσιες μεταφορές είναι ο πλέον αποτελεσματικός, συμφέρων και ασφαλής τρόπος για τη μεταφορά μεγάλων ποσοτήτων πρώτων υλών, αγαθών και προϊόντων, συμβάλλουν σημαντικά στην οικονομική και κοινωνική ευημερία μιας χώρας και αποτελούν αναπόσπαστο κομμάτι της παραγωγικής διαδικασίας και του εμπορίου. Shipping is undoubtedly one of the most dynamic and extrovert sectors of the economy. At global level, shipping and maritime transport play a particularly important role and are inextricably linked to the globalised market, as trade is conducted within the framework of the rules that globalisation itself shapes, within the framework of free and single market and undistorted competition. Moreover, maritime transport is the most efficient, advantageous and safe way to transport large quantities of raw materials, goods and products, contributes significantly to the economic and social well-being of a country and is an integral part of the production process and trade. (EN)
