Η διατριβή αποτελεί κριτική έκδοση και υπομνηματισμό του 'Περί μονήρους λέξεως' του γραμματικού Ηρωδιανού (2ος αι. μ.Χ.). Στη διατριβή προτάχθηκε εκτενής εισαγωγή, όπου εξετάστηκε λεπτομερώς ο βίος του γραμματικού. Επίσης εξετάστηκαν μαρτυρίες για τη διδασκαλία και τα έργα του γραμματικού. Ο Ηρωδιανός υπήρξε πολυγραφότατος, αλλά μόνο το έργο του περί μονήρους λέξεως σώθηκε ακέραιο. Στο έργο αυτό ο γραμματικός παραθέτει πρώτα όλες τις όμοιες λέξεις που συγκροτούν κανόνα, σχηματισμό κατά την αρχή της αναλογίας και μετά αναφέρει την ανόμοια λέξη, την μονήρη, που εξαιρείται του κανόνα. Το έργο σώζεται σε τρεις κώδικες, τον Hauniensis 1965, τον Vindobonensis 294 και τον Taurinensis B.VI.10. Ο τελευταίος παρέχει μόνο το προοίμιο του έργου. Η παρούσα διατριβή λαμβάνει υπόψη της και τα τρία χειρόγραφα, καθώς και τις διορθώσεις πολλών μελετητών. Διορθώνει το κείμενο σε πολλά χωρία επίσης.
This thesis presents both a critical edition and annotation of the work 'Peri monirous lexeos' by the grammarian Aelius Herodianus (2nd c. A.D.). An extensive introduction precedes the edition referring in detail to the life of the grammarian. At the same time testimonies regarding the teaching and the works of the grammarian are also examined. Herodianus proved to have written quite a lot, but only 'Peri monirous lexeos' survived in its entirely. In this work the grammarian first lists all of the similar words which follow the rule-based on the foundation of analogy - followed by any dissimilar word, tin moniri, which is an exeption to the rule. The work has been transmitted in three manuscripts: Haun. 1965, Vind. 294, Taur. B.VI.10. The third one offers only the preamble. This thesis takes into account all three manuscripts as well as corrections proposed by a lot of scholars. This thesis also corrects a lot of passages.
