Στην παρούσα έρευνα μελετήθηκαν συνολικά 80 περιπτώσεις ασθενών, εκ των οποίων 50 ήταν άντρες και 30 γυναίκες ηλικίας 30-50 ετών, στους οποίους τοποθετήθηκαν εμφυτεύματα. Οι ασθενείς εξετάστηκαν με υπολογιστική τομογραφία (CT) και μαγνητική τομογραφία (MRI), με σκοπό να αποδειχτεί αφενός μεν ποια εκ των δύο απεικονιστικών τεχνικών υπερέχει στην κλινική Οδοντιατρική πράξη, αφετέρου να διερευνηθεί αν η μαγνητική τομογραφία (MRI) αποτελεί αξιόπιστη εναλλακτική μέθοδο κατά τον προεγχειρητικό έλεγχο της τοποθέτησης των εμφυτευμάτων.Οι ασθενείς της μελέτης προήλθαν από το ιδιωτικό ιατρείο της ερευνήτριας αλλά και από παραπομπές γενικών οδοντιάτρων.
In this study (research) were studied 80 cases of patients, 50 males and 30 females. These patients were examined with Computer Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Tomography (MRI) in order to proceed to their oral rehabilitation with dental implants.The two methods were compared and underlined the benefits and the drawbacks not only of the Computer Tomography (CT) but also of the Magnetic Tomography (MRI), in order for the general practice dentists to be able to choose the most suitable method in their daily dental clinical practice.Furthermore it was investigated if the MRI consists a reliable method, used in the pre-surgical evaluation of the patients, who are going to put dental implants.All the patients in this study are from the private dental clinic of the researcher and from general practice dentists' references.
