The goal of this present thesis is to research the process of designing the curriculum of Second Chance School studies and its application to the first schools, during the pilot and experimental phase of the program’s operation. Furthermore, the way in which the institution obtained its basic defining characteristics and to what extent they now respond to the uniqueness of adult learners and harmonize with the philosophy and the basic principles of adult education. In parallel, the study investigates the conditions that facilitated the whole effort that set the safeguards for the success of the project and whether they are still working to the benefit of Second Chance Schools.
Σκοπός της παρούσας διατριβής είναι η έρευνα της διαδικασίας σχεδιασμού του Προγράμματος Σπουδών των Σχολείων Δεύτερης Ευκαιρίας, της φιλοσοφίας του και της εφαρμογής του στα πρώτα Σχολεία, κατά την πιλοτική και την πειραματική φάση λειτουργίας του προγράμματος. Επίσης, αντικείμενο της έρευνας αποτελεί ο τρόπος που ο θεσμός απέκτησε τα βασικά χαρακτηριστικά του στοιχεία και το κατά πόσον αυτά απαντούν στις ιδιαιτερότητες των ενήλικων εκπαιδευομένων και εναρμονίζονται με τη φιλοσοφία και τις βασικές αρχές της εκπαίδευσης ενηλίκων. Παράλληλα, διερευνώνται οι προϋποθέσεις που διευκόλυναν την όλη προσπάθεια, δηλαδή οι δικλείδες ασφαλείας που τέθηκαν για την επιτυχία του όλου εγχειρήματος και το κατά πόσον αυτές λειτουργούν ακόμα προς όφελος των Σχολείων Δεύτερης Ευκαιρίας.
