The aim of present thesis is to show that during the post Byzantine period the substance of Hesychasm is the base of Christian Orthodoxy. This intertemporal unity is confirmed by the bringers and the continuators of the Hesychasm’s tradition (people and places) with the generally shift in the ascetic life, the role of monastic centers, the authorial production of monastic’s works for the distinction of essence and energy in relation to deity, the prayer, the Uncreated Light etc. The Hesychasm’s Theology of this period is based to the hagiographic and apostolic-patristic tradition, which differentiates radically the apostolic-patristic Orthodoxy from her misrepresentations so in the East as in the West. The Anti-Hesychasm, the Enlightenment and the Pietism tried to alter and misrepresent the Orthodoxy. Optimistic message is the rediscovery of Hesychasm’s Theology and practice especially in the Mouth Athos monastic environment.
Σκοπὸς τῆς παρούσας διατριβῆς εἶναι νὰ δειχθεῖ ὅτι καὶ κατὰ τὴ Μεταβυζαντινὴ περίοδο ἡ οὐσία τοῦ Ἡσυχασμοῦ εἶναι τὸ θεμέλιο τῆς Χριστιανικῆς Ὀρθοδοξίας. Τὴ διαχρονικὴ αὐτὴ ἑνότητα ἐπιβεβαιώνουν περίτρανα οἱ φορεῖς καὶ συνεχιστὲς τῆς ἡσυχαστικῆς παράδοσης (πρόσωπα καὶ χῶροι), μὲ τὴ γενικότερη στροφή τους στὸν ἀσκητικὸ βίο, τὸ ρόλο τῶν μοναστικῶν κέντρων, τὴ συγγραφικὴ παραγωγὴ ἔργων γιὰ τὴ διάκριση οὐσίας καὶ ἐνέργειας στὴ θεότητα, τὴν προσευχή, τὸ ἄκτιστο Φῶς, κ.λπ. Ἡ ἡσυχαστικὴ θεολόγηση αὐτῆς τῆς περιόδου στηρίζεται στὴν ἁγιογραφικὴ καὶ πατερικὴ παράδοση, ἡ ὁποία διαφοροποιεῖ ριζικὰ τὴν ἀποστολικοπατερικὴ Ὀρθοδοξία ἀπὸ τὶς παραχαράξεις της τόσο στὴν Ἀνατολὴ ὅσο καὶ στὴ Δύση. Ὁ ἀντιησυχασμός, ὁ διαφωτισμὸς καὶ ὁ εὐσεβισμὸς προσπάθησαν νὰ ἀλλοιώσουν καὶ νὰ παραχαράξουν τὴν Ὀρθοδοξία. Αἰσιόδοξο μήνυμα εἶναι ἡ ἐπανεύρεση τῆς ἡσυχαστικῆς θεολόγησης καὶ πράξης κυρίως στὸ Ἁγιορείτικο μοναστικὸ περιβάλλον.
