Η παρούσα έρευνα εκκινείται από τη διαπίστωση ότι ο άνεμος αποτελεί μια φυσική, μεταφυσική και ψυχολογική οντότητα και ο στοχασμός πάνω σε αυτόν εγείρει ερωτήματα σχετικά με την υλική και τη μη υλική υπόσταση της ζωής .Η ερμηνεία δηλαδή του φαινομένου και η κατανόηση του ανάγεται στα βάθη της ανθρώπινης ιστορίας, κατέχοντας κεντρικό ρόλο σε πολλές μυθολογίες και σε διαφορετικές θρησκείες σε όλα τα πλάτη και μήκη του πλανήτη. Υπό το πρίσμα αυτής της θεώρησης η παρούσα έρευνα πραγματεύεται τον άνεμο ως φαινόμενο υψηλό και στο πλαίσιο της καλλιτεχνικής πράξης και δημιουργίας ως μη αναπαραστήσιμο. Η θεωρητική έρευνα σε διαφορετικά πεδία και επιστήμες, η καταγραφή και παρατήρηση προτύπων και αποτυπώσεων της αιολικής δράσης στη φύση και ο πειραματισμός με διάφορα εργαλεία και πρακτικές που βασίζονται σε νέες τεχνολογίες οδήγησε στην υλοποίηση δύο ψηφιακών εγκαταστάσεων, με σκοπό να διερευνηθεί αν μπορεί να παραχθεί αντίληψη και συναίσθηση του φαινομένου. Η έρευνα εστιάζει στον εντοπισμό κάποιας ουσιαστικής διαφοράς ως προς τη μέθοδο προσέγγισης και παρουσίασης τέτοιου είδους φαινομένων σε σύγκριση με πιο παραδοσιακές μορφές προσέγγισης της τέχνης. Σε δεύτερο επίπεδο ενσωματώνει το μύθο - ως παραδοσιακό πανανθρώπινο εργαλείο διαχείρισης του μη απεικονίσιμου - σε μια προοπτική προσέγγισής του μέσω των νέων τεχνολογιών στην τέχνη. Κατά αυτό τον τρόπο επισημαίνει την ανάγκη ανάγνωσης των παραδοσιακών δομών και εργαλείων ερμηνείας με τη χρήση σύγχρονων μέσων σήμερα.
The present study starts from the observation that the wind is a physical, metaphysical and psychological being, and meditation upon this raises questions about the material and the immaterial nature of life. The interpretation of this phenomenon and its understanding goes back in time to the beginning of human history playing a main role in many mythologies and in various religions all over the world. Seeing things from this point of view, the present study treats the wind as a sublime phenomenon that plays an important role within the framework of the artistic act and creation which is difficult to be represented. The theoretical study in various domains and fields of science, the registration and observation of models and results of the aeolian activity in nature and the experiencing with various tools and practices based on the new technology led to the construction of two digital installations in order to research whether this phenomenon could be observed and felt. The study focuses on finding some substantial difference between the ways of approaching and presenting this type of phenomena in comparison with more traditional ways of artistic representations. On a second level the myth is incorporated – as a traditional superhuman tool to manipulate the unseen - in an attempt to approach it in art with the help of the modern technology. This way it points out the necessity of “reading” of the traditional structures and ways of interpretation with the help of the modern tools.
