Σκοπός της διατριβής ήταν η μελέτη και η πραγμάτευση της εις πρεσβύτερον χειροτονία κατά την ανατολική βυζαντινή λειτουργική παράδοση, από πλευράς λειτουργικής, κανονικής και τελετουργικής. Το βασικό ερευνητικό πεδίο τοποθετείται χρονικά στις κανονικολειτουργικές συλλογές και από της εμφανίσεως της χειρογράφου ευχολογικής παραδόσεως με τον κώδικα Barberini gr. 336 (8ος αιώνας) έως και σήμερα. Από Κανονικής παραδόσεως αναλύσαμε τα κωλύματα της ιερωσύνης, τις νομοκανονικές προϋποθέσεις επιλογής, την ηλικία του χειροτονουμένου, το απολελυμένο της χειροτονίας, την ad saltum χειροτονία, τον τρόπο εκλογής και τον αρμόδιο τελεσιουργό της χειροτονίας. Η χειροτονία προ της υπαρχούσης χειρογράφου παραδόσεως ερευνήθηκε βάσει των κανονικολειτουργικών συλλογών, του Ευχολογίου του Σεραπίωνος, τα λειτουργικά υπομνήματα, τις πατερικές μαρτυρίες και τις αγιολογικές πηγές. Ως προς τη χειροτονία στην χειρόγραφη παράδοση η διάταξη του μυστηρίου, η χρονική στιγμή της χειροτονίας (προ του καθαγιασμού των Τιμίων Δώρων), τα προ της χειροτονίας (προσαγωγή του χειροτονουμένου, η τριττή σφράγιση, ο ιερός χορός, τα τροπάρια), η εκφώνηση «Η θεία χάρις …», οι ευχές της χειροτονίας, η ένδυση, το «Άξιος», ο ασπασμός του νεοχειροτονηθέντος, η παράδοση της παρακαταθήκης, η ημερήσια κατοχή των πρωτείων του νεοχειροτονηθέντος, η υποχρέωση επτά συνεχών λειτουργιών από μέρους του χειροτονηθέντος ερευνήθηκαν με βάση τη χειρόγραφη παράδοση και τα έντυπα Ευχολόγια, από το Βαρβερινό ελληνικό Ευχολόγιο 336 του 8ου αι. έως σήμερα.
The purpose of this dissertation was the study and the insightful discussion of the presbyter ordination according to the eastern byzantine liturgical tradition, from the liturgical, canonical and ritual perspective. The main research field lies chronologically in the church orders and from the appearance of the manuscript euchology tradition with the Barberini code gr.336 (8th century A.D.) up to the present day. From the perspective of the canonical tradition, we have analyzed the impediments of priesthood, the canonical prerequisites of choice, the age of the ordained, excluded ordination, the ad saltum ordination, the manner of election, and the competent ordinance .The ordination prior to the existent manuscript tradition was researched on the basis of church orders, Serapion’s Euchologion, the liturgical memoranda, the patristic testimonies and the hagiological sources. As concerns the ordination in the manuscript tradition the order of the sacrament, the time of ordination(prior to the sanctification of the Holy Gifts) the pre-ordination (ordination of the ordained, the third sealing, the sacred dance, the chants), the initiatory proclamation/bidding “The divine grace…”, the two ordination prayers, the dressing, the“ Axios ”, the embrace of the newly ordained, the surrender of the blessed bread in the hands of the presbyter, the daily occupation of the primates of the newly ordained, the obligation of seven continuous liturgies were researched on the basis of manuscript tradition and printed Euchlogions, from the Barberian Greek Euchologion 336 of the 8th century until today.
