L'objet de cette recherche, comme l'indique le titre, se concentre sur la personnalité artistique de Maria Callas, sa relation avec l'école de chant bel canto italienne et les opéras inspirés du théâtre grec antique, qu'elle a interprétés au cours de sa carrière. L'objectif de la recherche ici est de clarifier les questions de terminologie et de démarcation temporelle de l'idiome bel canto, afin de prouver si et dans quelle mesure Callas était une représentante importante de cette école. En outre, la recherche se concentre sur la relation entre l'opéra et le théâtre grec antique, à travers une étude comparative des sources pertinentes, à l'occasion des trois œuvres d'opéra du répertoire de Callas, dont les thèmes sont tirés des mythes grecs antiques : Alceste et Iphigénie en Tauride de Christoph Willibald Gluck et Médée de Luigi Cherubini.
Το αντικείμενο της παρούσας έρευνας, όπως αναγράφεται στον τίτλο, εστιάζει στην καλλιτεχνική προσωπικότητα της Μαρίας Κάλλας, στη σχέση της με την ιταλική σχολή τραγουδιού bel canto και τις εμπνευσμένες από το αρχαιοελληνικό δράμα όπερες, τις οποίες εκείνη ερμήνευσε στη διάρκεια της σταδιοδρομίας της. Στόχος της έρευνας εδώ είναι να διασαφηνιστούν ζητήματα ορολογίας και χρονικής οριοθέτησης του ιδιώματος του bel canto, ώστε να αποδειχθεί εάν και σε ποιον βαθμό η Κάλλας υπήρξε σημαντική εκπρόσωπος της σχολής αυτής. Περαιτέρω, η έρευνα εστιάζει στη σχέση της όπερας με τα αρχαιοελληνικά δράματα, μέσω μίας συγκριτικής μελέτης των σχετικών πηγών, με αφορμή τα τρία οπερικά έργα από το ρεπερτόριο της Κάλλας, των οποίων η θεματολογία αντλείται από τους αρχαιοελληνικούς μύθους: Alceste και Iphigénie en Tauride του Christoph Willibald Gluck και Medea του Luigi Cherubini.
The subject of this research, as indicated in the title, focuses on the artistic personality of Maria Callas, her relationship with the Italian bel canto singing school and the operas inspired by ancient Greek drama, which she performed during her career. The aim of the research here is to clarify issues of terminology and time demarcation of the bel canto idiom, in order to prove if and to what extent Callas was an important representative of this school. Furthermore, the research focuses on the relationship between opera and ancient Greek Drama, through a comparative study of the relevant sources, on the occasion of the three opera works from the repertoire of Callas, whose themes are drawn from ancient Greek myths: Alceste and Iphigénie en Tauride by Christoph Willibald Gluck and Medea by Luigi Cherubini.
