The present study investigates the role of training and development as a practice of Human Resource Management on employees in a known Greek company in retail market. In doing so, "Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM)” was applied based on a convenient sample of 143 employees of different positions in the same organizations. The research demonstrates the relationship between training and employees’ attitudes. Firstly, the study reveals the important role of training towards a satisfied workforce which seems to relate positively. The level of employees’ engagement is also affected by job satisfaction, which in turn mediates between training and work engagement. On the opponent the levels of productivity do not present positive relationship with job satisfaction, neither the last one is seen as mediator in the relationship of training and productivity. Furthermore, it is shown that training can reduce intention to turnover through its effect on job satisfaction. The research try also to investigate if a supervisor can give more satisfaction and engagement to employees and even more whether his support modest the relationship between training and job satisfaction. The findings are not presented significant to this study. In conclusion, discussion of the findings is carried out related to other investigations but even more practical and theoretical implications and future directions are presented. (EN)
