This dissertation was created as a part of the MSc in e-Business and Digital Marketing at the International Hellenic University. It was the end of my memorable and precious experience of postgraduate studying and has proved to be interesting and well-deserved. This thesis aims to examine an overview about the digital transformation of business models and more precisely the drivers, the enablers and the strategies for digital transformation of business models. The results from studying the literature on business models’ digital transformation will be enhanced with the study of three actual global business examples of business models’ digital transformation. Under Armour as the moderately successful case, Nokia as the unsuccessful case and Starbucks as the highly successful case. Therefore, we analyze and discuss the results related to the drivers, enablers and strategies of our literature research and of our use cases, finishing with our conclusions and the opportunities for future work.
