The Association of Social Workers of Greece (ASWH) was founded as an association in 1955. With article 111 of Law 4387/2016, the Association of Social Workers of Greece evolved into an independent and self-governing Legal Entity of Public Law (LPD),an institutional request of the sector which was implemented after many years of efforts. Articles 75-115 of Law 4488/2017 legislated the organization and operation of the Legal Entity SKLE. Today, the Association of Social Workers of Greece represents scientifically and professionally all Social Workers in the country with more than 8,500 registered members.
