The main objective of the dissertation was to apply different methodological approaches to measure the maximum wave distance in the swash zone. Video-monitoring technique measurements performed with a ruler with installed metallic piles placed at known distances in the beach and pressure transducers measurements were made. The comparison of
the results from the methods allow to conclude that videomonitoring observations are precise and deserve to be taken into account in the scope of further coastal management.
