The author publishes a document dated 20 March 1891, preserved in the archives of the Holy Metropolis of Thessaloniki. The addresser is the bishop of Ardamerion Sofronios and the addressee is the archbishop of Thessaloniki Sofronios.The above mentioned bishop in this report answers questions, which were posed by the Holy Episcopalian Synod on 7 March 1891 to the bishops of the Metropolis of Thessaloniki. More specifically, Sofronios of Ardamerion, in his reply touches upon the following issues concerning the province of his bishopric: 1) Morals, financial and professional state of the population, 2) administrative division, 3) education, 4) holy clergy, 5) holy monastery of St Anastasia Pharmakolytria.
