The following article presents and examines two publications that appeared in Thessaloniki during the Ottoman domination. The first Greek printing establishment was founded in Thessaloniki in 1850. Through the publishing activity that ensued one can research the educational, social and literary activity of the time and contribute to the understanding of Greek cultural life in Thessaloniki. The publications presented here, have not been catalogued in the bibliographies published to date. The first of the two publications presented herewith which appeared in 1897 is of educational content; a copy of it belongs to the Library of the Society of Macedonian Studies. The second publication, a copy of which belongs to the author of this article, is undated and contains a Service for Saturday before Easter. The most significant aspect of this publication is a list it contains of the publications of the printer Th. Herakleidis. In this list one can locate six publications never previously mentioned.
