In this paper, on the one hand is attempted a brief description of the literary and theatrical writing standards and the principles of Roman law regarding the adultery. On the other, the emergence of this motif as an important link for the influence of the theatrical species of Roman Mime on the narrative structure of the Metamorphoses.

Στην παρούσα εργασία επιχειρείται αφενός μεν μια συνοπτική περιγραφή των συγγραφικών προτύπων (λογοτεχνικών και θεατρικών) και των αρχών που διέπουν το ρωμαϊκό δίκαιο αναφορικά με το θέμα της μοιχείας, βάσει των οποίων συνέγραψε τις Μεταμορφώσεις του ο Απουλήιος (2ος αιώνας μ.Χ.). Αφετέρου δε η ανάδειξη αυτού του μοτίβου ως σημαντικού συνδετικού κρίκου άσκησης επίδρασης του θεατρικού είδους του Ρωμαϊκού Μίμου πάνω στην αφηγηματική δομή των Μεταμορφώσεων.
