This Master Thesis refers to the enkomion written by Michael Psellos for Symeon Metaphrastis. It contains some of the most important biografical notes for Psellos and Metaphrastis. It also contains information for the translation of the byzantine hagiographical texts. Last but not least it contains translation plus comments about the enkomion.

Η παρούσα εργασία πραγματεύεται το εγκώμιο που συνέγραψε ο Μιχαήλ Ψελλός προς τιμήν του Συμεώνος Μεταφραστού. Περιλαμβάνει ορισμένα βιογραφικά στοιχεία τόσο για το συγγραφέα του εγκωμίου όσο και τον εγκωμιαζόμενο, στοιχεία για το ζήτημα των μεταφράσεων των Βυζαντινών Αγιολογικών κειμένων, και τέλος μετάφραση και σχολιασμού του εγκωμίου.
