Σε αυτή τη διπλωματική εργασία διερευνάται η χωροκοινωνική εξέλιξη της περιοχής του Ελαιώνα των Αθηνών, μιας περιοχής πολυπρόσωπης κατακερματισμένης και εσωτερικά αντιφατικής.Εξετάζονται όλα εκείνα τα στοιχεία του ανθρωπογενούς, φυσικού και οικιστικού περιβάλλοντος που διαμόρφωσαν τη σημερινή φυσιογνωμία της περιοχής. Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση δίνεταιο στις χρήσεις των κτιρίων και στο πληθυσμιακό δυναμικό που εντοπίζεται σε αυτά, ενώ εξετάζεται και η κοινωνική ταυτότητα των μόνιμων κατοίκων. Τέλος, εντοπίζονται και καταγράφονται τα προβλήματα στην περιοχή και προτείνονται άξονες παρεμβάσεων για την επίλυσή τους, με στόχο τη βιώσιμη ανάπτυξη. (EL)

This project explores the territorial and social development of region of Elaionas in Athens. We examine all the elements of the anthropogenic, natural and residential environment that shaped the current physiognomy of this area. We emphasize particularly in the uses of buildings and the demographic potential that is located in them, while it is also examined the social identity of permanent population. Finally we locate and record the problems in Elaionas and suggest the main linchpins of interventions of solving those problems and reaching eventually sustainable development. (EN)
