Το 2016, το περιοδικό Academia δηµοσίευσε, στο τεύχος 7, µια συνέντευξη στην οποία ο Γιώργος Σταµέλος µε ρωτούσε για το όραµά µου για τις αποστολές του πανεπιστηµίου στη σύγχρονη κοινωνία. Συνέχεια εκείνης της δηµοσίευσης, η αντίδραση των αναγνωστών τον οδήγησε να µου ζητήσει να οργανώσω ένα τεύχος που να αφορά την ανώτατη εκπαίδευση στην Βραζιλία. Εγώ, για όσους δεν µε ξέρουν, είµαι οµότιµος καθηγητής των Επιστηµών της Εκπαίδευσης του Πανεπιστηµίου Paris 8 και στη συνέχεια «ενριζωµένος» (κατά την έκφραση που χρησιµοποιούν οι Βραζιλιάνοι) στη Βραζιλία από το 2003 και επισκέπτης καθηγητής στο Πανεπιστήµιο του Αρακαζού (Aracaju), στη βορειο-ανατολική ακτή της Βραζιλίας. In 2016 the journal Academia published, in volume 7, an interview in which George Stamelos asked me about my vision for the universities missions in contemporary society. As an outcome of that interview, the reaction of the readers led him to ask me to organize an edition which would concern higher education in Brazil. For those who do not know me, I am Emeritus Professor of the Sciences of Education at the University of Paris 8 and then “rooted” (according to the expression used by the Brazilians) in Brazil since 2003 and visiting professor at the University of Aracaju, on the north-eastern coast of Brazil. The idea for this edition seemed interesting to me. Here you will find the result.

En 2016, la revue Academia a publié, dans son numéro 7, un interview dans lequel Georgios Stamelos m’interrogeait sur ma vision des missions de l’université dans la société contemporaine. Suite à cette publication, la réaction des lecteurs l’a amené à me demander d’organiser un numéro de la revue consacré à l’enseignement supérieur au Brésil. Professeur retraité en Sciences de l’éducation de l’Université Paris 8, « enraciné » au Brésil depuis 2003 (selon l’expression employée par les Brésiliens) et Professor-Visitante à l’Université d’Aracaju, sur la côte nord-est du Brésil, l’idée et le défi m’ont semblé intéressants.
