Η διατριβή ασχολείται με το ζήτημα της συμμετοχής του Επισκόπου ως Κριτή/ Δικαστή στον πρώτο, δεύτερο και τρίτο βαθμό δικαιοδοσίας της εκκλησιαστικής δικαιοσύνης. Ιδιαίτερη αναφορά γίνεται στην ιστορική εξέλιξη του θεσμού της εκκλησιαστικής δικαιοσύνης, στο δικαιικό πλαίσιο που διαμορφώνουν οι Ιεροί Κανόνες - εστιάζοντας στις δικονομικές διατάξεις- καθώς και η Βυζαντινό-ρωμαϊκή νομοθεσία, ενώ γίνεται μνεία όλων των σημαντικών Δικών που αναφέρονται στα Πρακτικά και τα πεπραγμένα των Οικουμενικών Συνόδων. The thesis deals with the issue of the Bishop's participation as Judge in the first, second and third degree of jurisdiction of ecclesiastical justice. Particular reference is made to the historical development of the institution of ecclesiastical justice, to the legal framework formed by the Holy Canons - focusing on the procedural provisions - as well as the Byzantine-Roman legislation, while mention is made of all the important Courts mentioned in the Actsof the Ecumenical Councils.
