Yπάρχει μια ευρύτατη ποικιλία υλικών, φαρμάκων, εξοπλισμού αλλά και τεχνικών που μπορούν να χρησιμοποιηθούν για τον χημειοεμβολισμό του ηπατοκυτταρικού καρκίνου. Η δυνατότητα χρήσης σφαιριδίων της τάξης μεγέθους των 100 μm μας δίνει το πλεονέκτημα αφενός της μεγαλύτερης διάρκειας, αφετέρου της στοχευμένης περιοχικά, και κυτταροτοξικά ικανοποιητικής χημειοθεραπείας. Περιορίζει σημαντικά και τυχόν παράπλευρη τροφοδοσία του όγκου στόχου επιτυγχάνοντας ικανοποιητική του ανοξία. Αυτά τα πλεονεκτήματα είναι αρκετά σημαντικά με την προϋπόθεση ότι προηγουμένως έχουμε εκτελέσει έναν ασφαλή και προσεκτικό εκλεκτικό καθετηριασμό και έχουμε ελέγξει την τυχόν ύπαρξη αρτηριοφλεβωδών επικοινωνιών. There is a wide variety of materials, drugs, equipment and techniques that can be used for the chemoembolization of hepatocellular carcinoma. The possibility of using microsperes of the order of 100 μm gives us the advantage on the one hand of the longer duration, on the other hand of the regionally targeted, and cytotoxic satisfactory chemotherapy. Significantly reduces any collateral supply of the target volume, achieving satisfactory anoxia. These advantages are quite important provided that we have previously performed a safe and careful selective catheterization and checked for the presence of arteriovenous communications. (EN)
