Η παρούσα διπλωματική μεταπτυχιακή εργασία στηρίζεται στη μελέτη της εξερχόμενης αλληλογραφίας του εμπορικού οίκου Παναγή Τσιτσέλη των ετών 1786-1804 και 1814-1816. Αρχικά γίνεται παρουσίαση της ιστορικής περιόδου κατά την οποία η επιχείρηση εκτελούσε παραγγελίες, καθώς και των δυσκολιών που αυτή συναντούσε λόγω των ιδιαίτερων ιστορικών συνθηκών. Κατόπιν, αναφέρεται ο τρόπος με τον οποίο μια εμπορική επιχείρηση αξιοποιούσε τα εμπορικά δίκτυα και τις συγγενικές/επαγγελματικές σχέσεις στον χώρο της ανατολικής Μεσογείου, που είχε ως αποτέλεσμα την ένωση του εμπορίου μικρής και τοπικής κλίμακας με το διεθνές εμπόριο. Τέλος, περιγράφονται και αναλύονται επιμέρους θέματα που συναντήθηκαν στο copia lettere, όπως τα είδη των προϊόντων, οι περιοχές εισαγωγής και εξαγωγής τους, τα μέτρα και τα σταθμά, τα πλοία, οι συναλλαγές, καθώς και κάποιοι εμπορικοί κίνδυνοι. The present master’s thesis is based on the content of the outgoing correspondence that the Panagis Tsitselis merchant house had been sending during the years 1786-1804 and 1814-1816. At first, there is a presentation of the historical period during which the merchant house was executing orders as well as of the difficulties that were met by the company due to the particular historical conditions. Furthermore, there is an examination of how a trading house was able to make good use of the commercial networks and the family/business relations at the Eastern Mediterranean due to which there was a possibility of creating a link between the small and local trade and the international trade. Finally, the individual issues that were found in the copia lettere are described and analyzed, including the types of products, the areas of imports and exports, the weights and the measures, the vessels, the transactions and some of the trade risks.
