Αντικείμενο της εργασίας είναι οι προϋποθέσεις ως πεδίο της διεπαφής σημασιολογίας-πραγματολογίας. Αρχικά αντιπαραβάλλονται με τη λογική συνεπαγωγή και το υπονόημα για να καταδειχθεί η περίπλοκη σχέση τους με τα δύο αυτά είδη σημασίας. Στη συνέχεια παρουσιάζεται η κατεξοχήν χαρακτηριστική ιδιότητά τους, η προβολή. Τέλος, επιχειρείται με αφορμή δύο βασικά είδη προϋποθέσεων, την υπαρκτική προϋπόθεση των οριστικών περιγραφών και των δίπτυχων προτάσεων και την γεγονοτική προϋπόθεση των γεγονοτικών ρημάτων, να προσεγγιστεί το πρόβλημα της πυροδότησης των προϋποθέσεων. The subject of this thesis are linguistic presuppositions, a linguistic phenomenon at the semantics-pragmatics interface. They are juxtaposed with entailments and implicatures in order to indicate the complex relation among these types of inferences. Projection out of embedded clauses - the most typical property of presuppositions - is also briefly discussed. Finally, two main types of presuppositions are being examined in relation to the triggering problem: the existential presupposition of definite descriptions and cleft sentences as well as the factive presupposition of factive verbs.
