Iatrogenic perforation of the gastrointestinal tract is a rare complication of endoscopic procedures, whereas anastomotic leakage after surgery is not uncommon. Both conditions are associated with gut wall defects leading to significant morbidity and mortality of the patients. We describe two case reports, a colonic perforation and an esophagogastric anastomosis leakage successfully managed endoscopically using the combined technique with endoclips and endoloops. A literature review is performed on similar endoscopic techniques aiming to avoid surgical treatment in these patients. Copyright ©2013 Wolters Kluwer Health | Lippincott Williams & Wilkins. (EN)
