Στην παρούσα εργασία εξετάζεται το θέμα της θηλυκότητας κατά τη διαδικασία του γήρατος στο μεταφεμινιστικό πλαίσιο. Είναι ένα εξαιρετικά πολύπλοκο θέμα, καθώς και οι δύο έννοιες είναι κοινωνικά κατασκευασμένες, ενώ το γήρας σχετίζεται ταυτόχρονα και με βιολογικούς παράγοντες. Επιπλέον, το θέμα αφορά ιδιαίτερα τις γυναίκες στη νεοφιλελεύθερη συνθήκη, καθώς το γήρας θεωρείται μία «γυναικεία υπόθεση» σε μία εποχή που ο παγκόσμιος πληθυσμός γερνά με πρωτόγνωρους ρυθμούς και οι γυναίκες υπερβαίνουν τους άντρες στις μεγαλύτερες ηλικιακές ομάδες. Η έρευνα βασίζεται στις θεωρίες περί κοινωνικής κατασκευής του φύλου και της γήρανσης, δύο στοιχεία που είναι άρρηκτα συνδεδεμένα. Όπως έχει διαπιστωθεί από μελέτες, η σχέση αυτή δρα πάντα κατά των γυναικών, οι οποίες αισθάνονται το πέρασμα των χρόνων ως ένα συνεχή αγώνα «επιβίωσης» σε έναν κόσμο κατασκευασμένο πάνω σε πατριαρχικά πρότυπα. In this study, the issue of femininity during the ageing process is examined in the postfeminist context. It is an interestingly complex subject, as both concepts are socially constructed, while old age is also related to biological factors. The issue particularly addresses women in the neoliberal society taking into account that old age is considered a «women's concern» at a time when the world's population is ageing at an unprecedented rate and women outnumber men in the older age groups. The research is based on theories of the social construction of gender and ageing, two concepts that are integrally linked. Studies have shown that this relationship always works against women, who feel the passing of years as a constant struggle for «survival» in a world built on patriarchal standards. (EN)
