Η παρούσα διατριβή διερευνά την πολύπλευρη σχέση μεταξύ της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης (ΕΕ) και των χωρών της Μέσης Ανατολής σε δύο μέρη. Στο πρώτο μέρος, εξετάζει τον παγκόσμιο ρόλο της ΕΕ, εστιάζοντας στην εξέλιξη των εξωτερικών της σχέσεων και στο νομικό της πλαίσιο, καθώς και στην Κοινή Εξωτερική Πολιτική και Πολιτική Ασφάλειας (ΚΕΠΠΑ) με τις γειτονικές χώρες. Το δεύτερο μέρος εμβαθύνει στις σχέσεις ΕΕ-Μέσης Ανατολής, δίνοντας έμφαση στη στρατηγική οικονομική εταιρική σχέση. Αναλύονται η εμπορική συνεργασία, η αναπτυξιακή βοήθεια στην περιοχή ΜΕΝΑ και οι προκλήσεις στην ενεργειακή συνεργασία ΕΕ-Μέσης Ανατολής. Επιπλέον, διερευνά την προσέγγιση της ΕΕ στις προκλήσεις της μετανάστευσης και της ασφάλειας μέσω της συνεργασίας και της ανταλλαγής πληροφοριών. Το συμπέρασμα συνοψίζει τα βασικά ευρήματα, παρέχοντας μια επισκόπηση του παγκόσμιου ρόλου της ΕΕ και των προσπαθειών της στη Μέση Ανατολή. Η διδακτορική διατριβή συνδέεται επίσης με το έργο "Ευρωπαϊκές Μπλε Ζώνες", προσφέροντας ιδέες για ευρύτερες πρωτοβουλίες σταθερότητας και ανάπτυξης. (EL)
This dissertation explores the multifaceted relationship between the European Union (EU) and Middle Eastern countries in two parts. In the first part, it examines the EU's global role, focusing on its external relations' evolution and legal framework, as well as its Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) with neighboring countries. The second part delves into EU-Middle East relations, emphasizing a strategic economic partnership. It analyzes trade cooperation, development aid in the MENA region, and challenges in EU-Middle East energy cooperation. Additionally, it explores the EU's approach to migration and security challenges through cooperation and intelligence sharing. The conclusion summarizes key findings, providing an overview of the EU's global role and its efforts in the Middle East. The dissertation also links to the "European Blue Zones Project" offering insights into broader stability and development initiatives. (EN)
