The researching interest of the doctorate thesis by D. Farmakis on : Ancient Greek Sophistry: the place of the socio-political focuses on the objective consideration and critic reconstruction of the prerequisite of the foundation of the social and political philosophy of Ancient Sophistry. During the survey, it is attempted due to the original material, to raise the modernist problem-thesis and reflect the philosophical interaction that result in the deconstruction of the united cosmo-idol, on which all the expressions of the socio-political in the limits of the Greek world depend. The total researching attempt of tracing the socio-political in the problematic of the sophists emerges the radical nature of the political thought that intrudes in the redefinition of the criteria of considering the social and the political and in the dynamic of manipulating the philosophical thought from myth-swarming cosmo-apprehensions and instutionalized prejudices.
Το ερευνητικό ενδιαφέρον της διδακτορικής διατριβής επικεντρώνεται στην αντικειμενική θεώρηση και κριτική ανασυγκρότηση των προϋποθέσεων θεμελίωσης της κοινωνικής και πολιτικής φιλοσοφίας της Αρχαίας Σοφιστικής. Επιχειρείται στην πορεία της έρευνας, δυνάμει του πρωτογενούς πηγαίου υλικού, να αναδειχθεί ο ρηξικέλευθος σοφιστικός προσανατολισμός που συνιστά μια εναλλακτική προσέγγιση του πραγματικού, διαλαμβάνοντας την κριτική πρόσληψη του ιδεολογικού σχήματος "νόμω-φύσει", τη θεωρητική εμβάθυνση στη θεμελιώδη αρχή του κοινωνικού συμβολαίου, την αντιτεχνοκρατική θεμελίωση της συμμετοχικής δημοκρατίας από τον Πρωταγόρα, την ανατομία αντιπροσωπευτικών εκδοχών αναφορικά με το κεφαλαιώδες ανθρωπολογικό ζήτημα των κοινωνικοφυλετικών διακρίσεων και του θεσμού της δουλείας και την ανασημασιοδότηση του χαρακτήρα της πολιτικής κοινωνίας και του αξιακού συστήματος που ορίζει και δομεί τη σχέση ατόμου-πόλης.
