Αντικείμενο της διδακτορικής διατριβής είναι η κοινωνική οικονομία και η κοινωνική επιχειρηματικότητα. Σκοπός της είναι η διερεύνηση του κατά πόσο οι οργανώσεις της κοινωνικής οικονομίας και οι κοινωνικές επιχειρήσεις ειδικότερα, μπορούν να συμβάλλουν στην ενίσχυση της απασχόλησης και την τοπική ανάπτυξη στην Ελλάδα, με την υποστήριξη των ευρωπαϊκών θεσμών. Ειδικότερα, εξετάστηκε η συμβολή των κοινωνικών επιχειρήσεων στη στήριξη της επιχειρηματικότητας και την ενίσχυση της απασχόλησης ευπαθών ομάδων πληθυσμού σε τοπικό επίπεδο. Μεθοδολογικά, μελετήθηκαν η ακαδημαϊκή και η επιστημονική βιβλιογραφία, επίσημα έγγραφα της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης καθώς και ευρωπαϊκές και εθνικές έρευνες και μελέτες. Για τις ανάγκες της έρευνας, πρώτον, αξιολογήθηκαν μελέτες για την κοινωνική επιχειρηματικότητα στην Ελλάδα, δεύτερον, εξετάστηκε το έργο ενός ευρωπαϊκού προγράμματος δημιουργίας κοινωνικών επιχειρήσεων σε τοπικό επίπεδο και, τρίτον, διερευνήθηκε η κατάσταση των οργανώσεων της κοινωνικής οικονομίας και οι ανάγκες ανάπτυξης δράσεων κοινωνικής επιχειρηματικότητας στο Δήμο Καβάλας. Στο πρώτο κεφάλαιο παρουσιάζονται οι αιτίες που συνέβαλαν στην ανάδυση της κοινωνικής οικονομίας και της κοινωνικής επιχειρηματικότητας και διατυπώνονται εννοιολογικοί προσδιορισμοί και βασικά χαρακτηριστικά τους. Ακολούθως, αναλύονται τα χαρακτηριστικά των οργανώσεων της κοινωνικής οικονομίας και των κοινωνικών επιχειρήσεων, οι κοινωνικοοικονομικοί στόχοι τους καθώς και η οπτική της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης. Το δεύτερο κεφάλαιο εξετάζει τη σημασία των οργανώσεων της κοινωνικής οικονομίας και των κοινωνικών επιχειρήσεων στην Ελλάδα και παρουσιάζεται η συμβολή των ευρωπαϊκών δράσεων και προγραμμάτων για την ανάπτυξη του τομέα της κοινωνικής οικονομίας, την τοπική ανάπτυξη και τη στήριξη της απασχόλησης στη χώρα μας. Επίσης, στο ίδιο κεφάλαιο αναλύεται και το υπάρχον θεσμικό πλαίσιο της Ελλάδας. Στο τρίτο κεφάλαιο περιγράφονται μελέτες για τις κοινωνικές επιχειρήσεις σε τοπικό επίπεδο στη χώρα μας, εξετάζεται η συμβολή ενός ευρωπαϊκού προγράμματος κοινωνικής οικονομίας τοπικής παρέμβασης και παρουσιάζονται τα αποτελέσματα της έρευνας πεδίου για την ανάπτυξη κοινωνικής επιχειρηματικότητας συγκεκριμένα στο Δήμο Καβάλας. Η εργασία ολοκληρώνεται με τη σύνθεση των βασικών συμπερασμάτων της διατριβής, υπό το πρίσμα της αρχικής υπόθεσης εργασίας.
The doctoral thesis focuses on the social economy and the social entrepreneurship. Its objective was the study of the contribution of the organizations of social economy and the social enterprises in the strengthening of the employment and the development at local level in Greece, as well as the examination of the role of the European Institutions. More specifically, the doctoral thesis highlights the contribution of the social enterprises in the support of entrepreneurship and the strengthening of the employment of vulnerable groups at local level. Methodologically, the contribution of the academic and scientific bibliography, formal document of the European Union as well as European and National Researches, was meticulously studied. The research primarily, comprised of the assessment of essays for the social entrepreneurship in Greece, secondly, evaluated and examined a project of a European Programme for the establishment of social enterprises in local areas of intervention, and thirdly, the situation of the organizations of social economy and the needs for the development of social entrepreneurship, specifically in the area of the Municipality of Kavala, were in debate.At the first chapter, the thesis presents the causes that contributed to the rising of social economy and social entrepreneurship, and refers to conceptual definitions and their fundamental characteristics. Furthermore, the characteristics of the organizations of social economy and social enterprises are analyzed, as well as the perspective of the European Union. At the second chapter, the thesis examines the importance of the organizations of the social economy and social enterprises in Greece. The contribution of the European actions and programmes for the development of the sector of social economy, the local development and the support of employment in Greece are presented and the perspectives of the legislative framework are assessed. At the third chapter, the thesis describes the recent studies for the social enterprises at local level in Greece, elaborates on the contribution of a European Programme for social economy at local areas intervention and the results of field research for the development of social entrepreneurship in the area of Municipality of Kavala are presented. The study is completed with the composition of the fundamental conclusions of the doctoral thesis, from the view point of the initial hypothesis.
