Σκοπός της διατριβής ήταν να καλύψει ένα μέρος του κενού της έρευνας για το ελληνόφωνο εκπαιδευτικό έργο των πολιτικών προσφύγων, να φωτίσει διαστάσεις του σε συνθήκες «προσωρινής διαμονής» στις τότε σοσιαλιστικές χώρες, ώστε να κατανοηθούν καλύτερα οι εξελίξεις, οι οποίες ακολούθησαν τον ελληνικό εμφύλιο πόλεμο και τον αντίκτυπο που άφησαν στο έργο της εθνικής και σοσιαλιστικής διαμόρφωσης της νέας γενιάς προσφύγων. Στο πρώτο μέρος εξετάστηκαν θέματα όπως η εγκατάσταση και η προσαρμογή των πολιτικών προσφύγων στις πρώην σοσιαλιστικές χώρες μαζί με θέματα οργάνωσης, λειτουργίας και ιδιαιτερότητας του ελληνόφωνου εκπαιδευτικού συστήματος. Θέματα όπως η ειδική εκπαιδευτική μεθοδολογία, η καλλιέργεια της μητρικής γλώσσας σε ξενόγλωσσο περιβάλλον, η διγλωσσία και η διαπολιτισμική αγωγή, καθώς και η διαδικασία διάπλασης πανανθρώπινης συνείδησης παράλληλα με την εθνική και σοσιαλιστική έρχονται να φωτίσουν σημαντικές πτυχές του διαμορφωτικού έργου της προσφυγιάς. Στο δεύτερο μέρος της διατριβής, η έρευνα μέσω της χρήσης της ποιοτικής ανάλυσης περιεχομένου σημαντικού αριθμού σχολικών εγχειριδίων λογοτεχνίας, ιστορίας και γεωγραφίας, επεδίωξε να εξετάσει έναν από τους τρόπους μετάδοσης κυρίαρχων αξιών και πεποιθήσεων που συνέβαλαν στη διάπλαση της προσωπικότητας της προσφυγικής νεολαίας.
The aim of the thesis was to cover part of the gap of research on the Greek-speaking educational work of political refugees, to illuminate dimensions in conditions of "temporary stay" in the then socialist countries in order to better understand the developments that followed the Greek civil war and the impact left by the work of national and socialist shaping of a new generation of refugees. The first part examined issues such as installation and adjustment of political refugees in the former socialist countries with the organization, operation and specific characteristics of the Greek-speaking education system. Issues such as special educational methodology, the cultivation of the mother tongue in foreign language environment, bilingual and intercultural education, as well as the conformation of a pan-human consciousness process alongside national and socialist come to illuminate important aspects of the formative work of refugees. In the second part of the thesis, research through the use of qualitative content analysis of a significant number of school literature textbooks, history and geography sought to address one of its modes of transmission of dominant values and beliefs that contributed to shaping the personality of refugee youth.
