The objective of this doctoral thesis was to be examine the oxygenate compounds impact on the physicochemical properties of motor gasoline mixtures.The oxygenate compounds have important contribution on the final gasoline formulation, not only improving octane ratings, but also reducing the emission of carbon monoxide and unburned hydrocarbons, minimizing the emission of volatile organic compounds, reducing the environmental impact of the use of fossil fuels.Gasoline formulation is based on components produced from different refinery processes, that differ in their properties, blended in different proportions, in order to meet the specifications of the unleaded motor gasoline.
Σκοπός αυτής της διδακτορικής διατριβής ήταν η εξέταση της επίδρασης των οξυγονούχων ενώσεων στα φυσικοχημικά χαρακτηριστικά μιγμάτων με συστατικά βενζίνης. Τα οξυγονούχα συστατικά σήμερα έχουν σημαντικό ρόλο στην παραγωγή της βενζίνης, όχι μόνο επειδή βελτιώνουν τις ιδιότητες του προϊόντος, όπως τον αριθμό οκτανίου, αλλά επειδή συμβάλλουν στην καλύτερη καύση της βενζίνης στον κινητήρα μειώνοντας τις εκπομπές του μονοξειδίου του άνθρακα και των άκαυστων υδρογονανθράκων, ελαχιστοποιώντας κατ’ αυτόν τον τρόπο τις εκπομπές πτητικών οργανικών ενώσεων και συνεισφέροντας στην μείωση των περιβαλλοντικών επιπτώσεων από την χρήση των ορυκτών καυσίμων.Η βενζίνη παράγεται με την ανάμιξη συστατικών από διαφορετικές διεργασίες του διυλιστηρίου, που έχουν διαφορετικές ιδιότητες και αναμιγνύονται σε διάφορες αναλογίες, ώστε να ικανοποιούν τις προδιαγραφές της εμπορικής αμόλυβδης βενζίνης.
