Σκοπός της διατριβής ήταν η μελέτη του ρόλου της μετάφρασης λογοτεχνικών ταξιδιωτικών κειμένων ως ευνοϊκό μέσο για τον διαπολιτισμικό διάλογο. Σε αυτό το πλαίσιο πρωταρχικό ρόλο παίζει ο μεταφραστής ο οποίος είναι διαμεσολαβητής διαφορετικών κόσμων. Η εργασία διαρθρώνεται σε τρία μέρη: το πρώτο αφορά το θέμα του ταξιδιού, τη σημασία που αυτό διατηρεί για τον άνθρωπο και, τέλος, στο δεσμό μεταξύ ταξιδιού και μετάφρασης. Στο δεύτερο μέρος μελετάται ο ρόλος της γλώσσας ως μέσο έκφρασης της αντίληψης του κόσμου, η οποία εξελίσσεται, δυνητικά, σε πολιτιστικό παράγοντα, και παρουσιάζονται το συγγραφέα, Νίκο Καζαντζάκη καθώς και το έργο του Ταξιδεύοντας Ιταλία – Αίγυπτος - Σινά - Ιερουσαλήμ - Κύπρος - Ο Μοριάς. Στο τρίτο μέρος παρουσιάζουμε ορισμένα αντιπροσωπευτικότερα σημεία του προαναφερθέντος έργου, παραθέτοντας τη μετάφραση αποσπασμάτων του πρωτοτύπου στην ελληνική γλώσσα προς την ιταλική, καθώς επίσης και σχόλια περί των ταξιδιωτικών αναφορών που ελήφθησαν υπ’ όψιν.
The aim of the present thesis was the study of the translation of literary travel writing, as a tool to facilitate the intercultural dialogue. In this context the primary role played by the translator who is a mediator between different worlds. The work is structured in three parts: the first concerns the issue of travel, the importance that it retains for humans and finally the link between travel and translation. The second part studied the role of language to express the perception of the world, which develops, potentially, a cultural factor, and presented the writer Nikos Kazantzakis and his work Traveling Italy - Egypt - Sinai - Jerusalem - Cyprus - Morea. In the third part we present some representative points of the aforementioned project, giving a translation of the original passages in the Greek language into Italian, as well as comments on the travel reports taken into account.
